Mrs. Lisa Jordan
This school year (2022-23) will be Mrs. Jordan's 11th year of teaching and her 10th group of fourth graders- WOW! She is looking forward to an exciting year with a brand new group of students! Mrs. Jordan was born and raised in Dallas, TX and moved to Utah to attend Utah State. She graduated with a Dual Major K-6/ELED degree & Math Endorsement. She spent her summer hiking with other teachers, studying the art of yoga, and learning about social and emotional education. She has 3 adorable kids: James (5), Evan (3), and Kate (1.5) Her favorite color is anything BRIGHT and her greatest passion is helping others. Mrs. Jordan's big wish is to drink chocolate milk every day and make Texas move closer to Utah.
"Teaching at Thomas Edison has been an absolute joy! This school is my dream workplace.
I love how involved the parents are and how the Thomas Edison "Team" works together.
Here's to new adventures every day!"

WHat is "tranquility" & SEL?
You'll notice on Thursdays, we have "Tranquility & SEL" scheduled from 10:05-10:30. Please allow me to expand on what our class will be studying during that time, as it is likely new to you.
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is all about teaching students to process and understand emotions and how to develop social skills, like communication, conflict resolution, and respect. Once a month our counselor, Mr. Bingham comes to discuss these skills with our class, focusing on validation and peer interactions.
The other weeks, I plan to offer an opportunity to students to practice mindfulness along with some movement. I recently became certified as a social-emotional learning facilitator and 200-hr yoga instructor at the Breathe for Change program. I look forward to sharing what I learned this summer with our class!
